My Summer Reading List: The Results.

I realized the other day that I never updated my Summer Reading List after the first month. Being that my original challenge was to end on September 1st, and here it is the 22nd (and the last day of summer) I figured I’d better share the results.. if you even care anymore! haha!

Here it goes..

The original post:  (Read it here)

Here’s My Final  list: (Blue was from my 1st update, red is this one.)

DONE!1. Bossypants- Tina Fey  I actually am about half way through this. It’s pretty funny, I was laughing just reading the back cover!  I love Tina Fey.  I thought it was funny! The stuff about her doing Sarah Palin was  interesting!

DONE! 2. Naptime is the New Happy Hour-  Stefanie Wilder-Taylor    I started reading this a while ago, then I lost it. After finding that it had fallen behind our bed, I plan on finishing it. It too is pretty funny.  It was amusing. I had a hard time finishing. I know its got “happy hour” in the title… but the amount of times she talks about drinking kind of bugged me.

3. Eat, Pray, Love.  A woman at work bought this for me for my birthday like 3 years ago. I started reading it once. I’d really like to read it in its entirety.

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. Which is obvious from all of these books that I ordered and havent read.  These next ones are all him:

4. The Postcard Killers- I read about 3 pages of this.. and is currently sitting beside my bed and I have successfully forgotten about it. 😉

5. Swimsuit DONE!

6-8 8th Confession DONE!, 9th Judgement, and 10th Anniversary (I havent gotten 10th anniversary yet since it just came out.. but I really want it!)

9. Worst Case

10. Cross Country

11. I, Alex Cross

12. Relentless- Dean Koontz

13. Your Heart Belongs to Me- Dean Koontz

14. The new Sookie Stackhouse novel . I can’t remember the title. I havent gotten it yet either, but its a must! DONE! The title was Dead Reckoning by the way. I got it from our library’s e-library, which was kinda cool.. I read it on my phone. 🙂

15. The other Charlaine Harris book I bought from a different series.. I also can’t remember the title… I have to find it.

16-? Anything else I get around to reading, should I make it this far down the list. I also currently have 4 books I got for free on my Kindle App on my phone, and a couple that the Teen got that I wouldn’t mind reading either.

ADDED:

DONE!17. The Lost Symbol- Dan Brown This should have been on the list to begin with. I really enjoyed it! I spent about 5 hours on Monday finishing it! I couldnt put it down! :)

DONE! 18. A trashy romance novel I downloaded for free on my Kindle App. :)

 * * * * * * * *

So, I read seven books over the summer. Honestly, considering how much I read before that, I guess its’ not too bad. I just have to be more conscious of how much I’m not reading.. if that made any sense. haha!

What are you reading?

How was your weekend?

How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty good.

 – Hubby’s check was actually enough to cover the rent. Whew! I was really worried about that. Now we just have to worry about his working this week.. we still don’t know if there is anything for him to do. Ugh. This has gotten way old way fast. He only worked 2 days last week.

– I spent all day Saturday cleaning and doing the laundry so I wouldn’t have to do it on Sunday.

-The racoon that hangs out in our yard was tormenting the dog all weekend. It was sitting on the roof above our porch just watching him Saturday evening. Then last night it was up in one of the really tall pine trees.. but the dog knew it was there, and proceeded to practically climb the tree to try to get it. The silly dog is going to get stuck one of these days. Had I thought ot grab my camera, before I went scaling the steep hill in the dark, it would have been a great picture of the crazy dog in the tree. But alas, I did not. It was a miracle I found a flashlight.

 – Hubby went out early Sunday morning and got me flowers and cards (from him and the girls). I think he was trying to make me breakfast in bed,but the Maniac wanted me to take her downstairs, so I did. She ran into the kitchen to see what he was doing and came back out yelling “Mama!! daddy got you fowers!” It was pretty cute.

– The rest of the day I just kind of lounged around. I caught up on some tv from the DVR. Although, it seems that my day off ended at 6pm, when they all wanted dinner and no one wanted to make any. Oh well.. a mothers work is never done. 😉

– This morning started with being wide awake at 4am. Luckily I fell asleep again, only to wake up at 6:30 for no real apparent reason.

– Sometime in the middle of the night, my Brother-in-law’s Baby Mama posted a rather rude comment on a picture of my Best Friend on my Facebook. I’m not really sure why she felt the need to do that. I deleted it of course. But now, I’m not sure whether I should say anything or just let it go.

 – I thought I heard the Teen in the bathroom at about 7. Which turned out to not be the case – she neglected to set her alarm and didn’t get up until almost 7:30, right about the time I realized that I hadn’t heard her again. Oh well.. maybe it will teach her a lesson about remembering to turn her alarm on. She managed to not be late.

 – Hubby went off to work. Most likely to be home sooner than later. Ugh. Keep your fingers crossed that he has work this week. He’s starting to drive me insane being here all the time.

 – I am scouring the sale ads to see who has Pull Ups on sale. We are almost out, and being that a certain small person refuses to use the potty I have to figure out how to get the best deal I can on the insanely small budget I have for the next two weeks.

Oh well.. I wish you a wonderful Monday. I’m going to go get dressed and go buy some diapers. Big fun.

Oh!! And I almost forgot! Cross one book off of my Summer Reading List! I finished “Bossypants” by Tina Fey on Saturday! Woo hoo! 🙂

My Summer Reading List

So, way back in January I posted my New Years Resolutions.

 #6 was Read More.

While, I did find some time a few weeks ago to read a little, I am going to make a more conscious effort to do so. And I wasn’t kidding when I said I have 10+ books sitting around waiting for me to read them. (There was a while when we first moved to CA, where I was pre-ordering books constantly, and I never ended up reading them.)

I have decided to compile a Summer Reading List. I’m going to see how many I can read between now and September 1st.

Here it is, in no particular order:

1. Bossypants- Tina Fey  I actually am about half way through this. It’s pretty funny, I was laughing just reading the back cover!  I love Tina Fey.

2. Naptime is the New Happy Hour-  Stefanie Wilder-Taylor    I started reading this a while ago, then I lost it. After finding that it had fallen behind our bed, I plan on finishing it. It too is pretty funny.

4. The Postcard Killers

5. Swimsuit

6-8 8th Confession, 9th Judgement, and 10th Anniversary (I havent gotten 10th anniversary yet since it just came out.. but I really want it!)

9. Worst Case

10. Cross Country

11. I, Alex Cross

The Next 2 are Dean Koontz, one of my other faves!

12. Relentless

13. Your Heart Belongs to Me

I also Looove Charlaine Harris.

14. The new Sookie Stackhouse novel that came out yesterday. I can’t remember the title. I havent gotten it yet either, but its a must!

So there we have it. I’ll keep you informed of my progress, as I’m sure you will be dying to know. 😉
